Chapter 8.20 GARBAGE COLLECTION AND DISPOSAL
Section 8.20.020 Receptacle specifications.
A. The receptacle for garbage shall
be of metal or plastic with a close-fitting cover, be
watertight, have a maximum capacity of not to exceed thirty (30) gallons, and be provided with
suitable handles. The basic monthly charge shall entitle the owner or occupant to a limit of one
receptacle per house, building, flat, apartment or tenement. For each day a receptacle over the
limit of one is utilized for garbage and refuse pickup, a sticker must be purchased at the office of
the city clerk, or wherever else the stickers are made available to the public, and attached to each
of the receptacles in excess of the above referenced limit.
B. The receptacle for the recyclables
shall be plastic bins, for which there shall be no
monthly charge, but for which the owner or occupant will be required to pay a one time initial
fee that shall be included on the next practicable utility bill. (Ord. 1390 § 1 (part), 1995: prior
