Any corporation, firm or individual requesting permission to install a system through the city’ s central control board shall be advised in writing by the city clerk that the city assumes no liability whatsoever for the proper installation or maintenance of the system so installed, and shall be further advised in writing that the city assumes no liability whatsoever for the malfunctioning of any such system. The city’ s only obligation shall be to monitor any alarms sounded through its central control board, and to respond to such alarms in the manner such alarms are usually responded to by either the police department or fire department of the city.
