Section 2.12 DEPUTY CITY CLERK
Chapter 2.12.010 Appointment--Duties.
The city clerk is authorized to appoint one deputy city clerk.
The deputy city clerk shall
perform the functions of the city clerk in the absence of the city clerk from the office of the clerk
and only when either written direction has been given by the city clerk to such deputy to exercise
such power, or the corporate authorities of the city have determined by resolution that the city
clerk is temporarily or permanently incapacitated to perform the functions of the city clerk s
office, as provided in Section 5/3.1-35-95 of the Illinois Municipal Code of 1961, as amended
(56 ILCS 5/3.1-35-95) and Section 2.10.140 of this code. (Amended during 1997 codification:
