The filling, grading or excavation of sinkholes is prohibited unless an erosion control site plan is approved by the city engineer. The erosion control site plan is to be submitted to the county soil and water conservation district (SWCD) for the county in which the sinkhole is located. The SWCD will review the submitted plan and make recommendations to the city engineer. The city engineer will either approve or disapprove the plan and if disapproved, will state in writing the reasons for disapproval and what is required in order to obtain plan approval.
