Chapter 15.24 DEMOLITION OF BUILDINGS
Section 15.24.010 Demolition permit.
No building as defined in Section 17.04.030 shall be demolished
or razed until the required fee
has been paid and a demolition permit has been issued by the building inspector by and on behalf
of the building and zoning department of the city. The application for the demolition permit shall
be filed with and the required fee paid to the city clerk who shall refer the application to the
building and zoning department of the city for its review and approval. If approved by the
building and zoning department, the city building inspector shall issue a demolition permit for
the proposed demolition. If the application is denied, a letter of explanation from the building
inspector shall specify the requirements necessary to be satisfied in order to obtain issuance of
the demolition permit. The application for a demolition permit shall be executed by the owner of
the real estate premises on which the building sought to be demolished is located or his or its
duly authorized agent and proof of ownership of the subject real estate (such as but not limited
to, a real estate deed or title insurance policy) shall accompany the application for the demolition
